Patricia Halford – Moving on!
Ms. Patricia Halford has been our Lay Pastoral Minister for the past two years. Her dedication to the Parish of Vaudreuil has notably included a vital pastoral care ministry. Patricia is now stepping down from her responsibilities, but is training up a team of parish visitors who will be helping out with the visitations needed.
Patricia will be pursuing her ministry studies with a view to becoming a Deacon in the Anglican Church to serve in the Anglican Diocese of Montreal. A deacon is an ordained minister, being the first of three orders of ministry: deacon, priest, and bishop. Deacons typically train for and exercise a specific ministry under the authority of the Diocesan Bishop, and can be called to minister in any area of Diocese. They are funded by grants from agencies and people who support such ministries.
Patricia will continue to worship in the Parish of Vaudreuil until such time as she is called to minister elsewhere. We wish Patricia and her husband David Langlois, every good wish and God’s blessing for their future ministry together.
On Sunday, July 31st, Patricia’s last day officially with the Parish, alternate Rector’s Warden, Laurie Tomita, on behalf of the Parish, spoke warmly of Patricia’s work in the Parish. The words of thanks can be read and downloaded from here. People’s Warden, Ian Sinclair, then presented Patricia with a gift of thanks in the form of a book about Christian formation and a monetary contribution to her future studies.
