YOUTH WEEKEND OF FASTING: Friday 25th & Saturday 26th April

St. James will be the host of a collaborative 24hr famine on April 25th and 26th. Youth groups from surrounding Anglican churches i.e. St. Michael’s of All Angels, St. George’s, and Christ Church Beaurepaire, will gather at St. James to take part in an "Off the Grid" famine. It focuses on the environmental and social implications of our dependence on electricity, resource extraction, climate change and warfare and is designed to be a fun, informative and exciting opportunity for youth to become engaged in these issues from a variety of perspectives. It also encourages youth to use what they have learnt to make positive changes in their communities.

The event will commence on Friday the 25th at 7:30, (all youth are asked to meet at St. James hall) and will conclude on the 26th in the evening with a meal prepared by the youth. Parents are asked to come for desert and pick up their kids on the 26th at 7:30pm.

Donations for the event will be collected by the youth. Please sponsor them generously. All proceeds will go to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. For more information on this check out their website ‘ www.foodgrainsbank.ca’ .

Any youth who are interested in participating can contact Kelly at 514-445-6386.
