ST. JAMES CHURCH WOMEN:
Once again we are relaxing after a most successful Homes Tour. Without our Convenor Gay Campbell’s work and all the volunteers’ effort, this St. James Church fund raising event would not be possible. Thank you to everyone for their tremendous support. The success of the Tour enables us to once again make our annual summer donations to four city groups for needy children and to Camp Chapleau for needy adults, plus financial assistance throughout the year to many more charities. The Women’s executive has agreed to prepare snacks for the children attending the Crosstalk Ministries Day Camp to be held at St. James. In the hopes of successful fund-raising we replaced two stoves in the kitchen—this will be a great asset to the hospitality group and all who use the kitchen facilities.
SUMMER SERVICE HYMNS FOR THE YOUNG AND YOUNG AT HEART:
Do you remember “Jesus Bids us Shine”, Jesus Loves Me”, “When He Cometh”, “Tell me the Stories of Jesus”? We have found such favourites which have not been sung at St. Mary’s or St. James for some time because they are not included in the new Hymn Book. To set matters right, we have chosen a different one of them to be sung at each of the Summer Services (July 9:30 am services at St. James) and (August 9:30 am service at St. Mary’s). Come along and bring the young ones who may never have heard them. Let them join in with you and sing some favourites from your childhood and youth.
DROP IN PLAY CENTRE: Tuesday mornings 9:30 am to 11:00 am
Starting on September 5th at St. Mary’s Parish Hall (273 Main Road). Caregivers and tots 0-5 years. Come and meet new friends while your children play. No registration fees. For more information call Georgia and Allan 450-458-5471. All Welcome!
