KNITTING PROJECT: Make a teddy with arms for outreach
Doctors without borders who treat children in Third World countries are asking for knitted teddies as they have found that children who have a teddy to cuddle get better quicker than those who don’t have one. Each child keeps his/her own teddy to take home, so doctors need a continual supply. This is an ongoing project and there is no time limit.
This project was presented to St. Mary’s Sewing Circle and so far we have completed two and one half bears! They are very easy to make, taking perhaps four hours – a perfect project for holiday time. Full instructions are available through the sewing circle an on our website. The bears can be stuffed with quilt batting or polyester fiber fill. Help # Liz @ 458-5442.

I find once more, that it’s a shame
I simply can’t be there again!
The pressures mount
Engagements climb
And interfere with “Sewing Time”
And cooking buns
And loaves and such
Are things for which
I’ve lost the Touch!
Of late the joy of sipping tea
And gobbling up each calorie
Is something out of sight for me.
So dears today I’ll miss you all
Now meeting at St. Mary’s Hall.
I hope the books all balance well
May future plans see us excel

Deaths:
David Brauer died on May 10th and his Memorial Service was held at St. James on May 13th, 2005.
A Memorial Service was held at St. James on May14th for Bettie Hunter who died on March 2nd, 2005.
