THE VAUDREUIL PARISH PULSE
September 30th, 2005 (2005-09)
CONSIGNMENT SALE:
Linda Cobbett and her huge gang of volunteers are justly proud. Sales at the 38th Annual Consignment Sale were booming as jewelry, paintings, kitchen and dining wares, household furnishings, garden and sports equipment all exchanged hands, while muffins, doughnuts and coffee were being consumed. The collective effort of all involved netted nearly $4,000 to be shared between St. James' and St. Mary's Churches. Many thanks to Linda and all who pitched in to help her!
Thank you Linda!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD:
Once again the St. James Church Women are sponsoring this worthwhile project. Shoe boxes will be available in the small hall at St. James and at St. Mary’s Church or you may use your own. (other ideas suggested are a back pack, Tupperware or small tool box).
Shoe boxes should be filled with simple, inexpensive gifts that will be useful and fun for children in Guinea, Ivory Coast and Senegal. Ideas: toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, washcloth, small towel, comb, brush, pencils, sharpener, erasers, small stuffed toys, balls, puzzles, toy jewellery, hairclips, stickers, hard candy, note pads, baseball caps, t-shirts, socks.
Once filled they can be wrapped in Christmas paper (lid separately so that contents can be checked) with label on top for “boy” or “Girl” and marked for age group 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14 and dropped off in the small hall at St. James by Sunday November 6th.
Also a cheque for $5 payable to Samaritan’s Purse should be included in an envelope on top of the gifts inside the shoe box. Place a rubber band around your box and lid.
For more info contact Linda Cobbett 458-5100. Please nothing breakable, or used
and no gum or chocolate type candy that will melt.
FALL GENERAL MEETING – ST. JAMES CHURCH WOMEN
The FGM will be held on October 13th at 7:30 pm in the small hall of St. James Church.
After a short business meeting Mrs. Judith Collinge President of Hudson’s Le Nichoir will give a presentation. Le Nichoir “bird hospice” is housed opposite St. James Church on Main Road. Mrs. Collinge will show on screen and talk about the ongoing work that the staff at Le Nichoir does for injured birds and fledglings found in the community and surrounding areas. Le Nichoir is on the St. James Womens annual donation list. Do come and listen and learn about this worthwhile service provided here in Hudson for “under privileged birds”. Social time afterwards with coffee, tea and goodies.
See you there, Thursday October 13th small hall. All Welcome.

done some shooting in Oka.
The following arrangements have been made for next week- Preparation: Wed. Oct. 5th, small hall, Filming: Thurs. Oct. 6th, (small hall-filming, large hall-support), Wrap: Friday, Oct. 7th (small hall, if necessary) so if you drive by the Church on those days you'll see trucks and lots of activity.
