Third Sunday after Epiphany
- Jonah 1
- Jonah 2
- Jonah 3 & 4
- Mark 1:14-15
God of every land and nation,
you have created all people
and you dwell among us in Jesus Christ.
Listen to the cries of those who pray to you,
and grant that, as we proclaim the greatness of your name,
all people will know the power of love at work in the world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers for this week
Light of life, you came in flesh,
born into human pain and joy,
and gave us power to be your children.
Grant us faith, O Christ, to see your presence among us,
so that all of creation may sing new songs of gladness
and walk in the way of peace. Amen.
The World Council of Churches maintains an Ecumenical Prayer Cycle, aiding Christians to pray for those of faith around the world.
Hear us, O God.
We pray for an end to the suffering of the refugees,
for strength and resilience for the victims,
for peace and justice in the warring nations,
for courage and perseverance to those helping the afflicted,
for wisdom and compassion for the nations receiving the influx of the refugees,
through Jesus Christ your suffering servant.
