You may by now have heard that the draconian conditions imposed on doctors by CAQ Government’s Bill 2 leaves the doctors at the Family Medicine Group (GMF) Hudson with no choice but to cease operations at Hudson Medi-Centre. The clinic will close on April 1, 2026.

Bill 2’s measures go far beyond GMF Hudson and will negatively impact doctors of all vocations in hospitals, clinics, private and public seniors residences which will ultimately affect you adversely in one way or another.

At this time, the only influence patients and citizens at large can try is to participate in the Petition being circulated at https://www.assnat.qc.ca/fr/exprimez-votre-opinion/petition/Petition-11807/index.html . It calls on the Government to repeal Bill 2 and, by extension, continue negotiations in good faith with the Quebec Federation of Medical Specialists and the Quebec Federation of General Practitioners.

While on the site, you can elect the English option. It  will provide instructions on how to exercise your right in English, but the Petition itself is in French only, so you may find this translation to be helpful:
